Brief
For the Oro Verde project, AreaTonic was tasked by Kinggoose Hospitality with designing a new restaurant by Chef Jorge Vallejo, celebrated for his innovative Quintonil in Mexico City. Oro Verde embodies contemporary Mexican "Fusion" cuisine, emphasizing simplicity and essential ingredients, much like its signature "palta," the green gold of Mexican culinary tradition. Jorge Vallejo, an internationally acclaimed chef, is celebrated for his innovative Mexican cuisine at Quintonil, a top-ranked restaurant in Mexico City. Opened in 2012, Quintonil is known for its commitment to fresh, local ingredients and sustainability. Vallejo, alongside his wife Alejandra Flores, focuses on modernizing Mexican culinary traditions while maintaining a personal touch in the kitchen.

Concept
For this project, the color palette and material selection draw inspiration from natural elements, creating a grounding and organic ambiance. Volcanic stone, wood, and roots influence the textural choices, reflecting the earthiness and robustness of nature. The inclusion of avocado green hues throughout the design not only highlights a key ingredient in the culinary offerings but also adds a fresh, vibrant touch that complements the overall earth-toned theme. This approach crafts an environment that is both rustic and refined, mirroring the simplicity and depth of the menu's flavors.
Layout
AreaTonic was tasked with designing an engaging, open kitchen within the historic Old U.S. Post Office and Courthouse in Downtown Miami. The layout allows for direct interaction between the chef and diners while preserving the building's structural integrity. This approach emphasizes transparency and enhances the dining experience, maintaining the site's historical value.
